Born in Hertfordshire in 1975, Simon Webb currently lives and works in Greater Manchester. He studied photography at Bolton Institute and was formerly Director of Folly Gallery, Lancaster.

Simon currently lectures in Photography at the University College Chester and is a freelance photographer whose clients have included: The Commonwealth Games (Manchester 2002), National Museums Liverpool, Manchester City Council and The Times newspaper.

In 2002, Simon had his first major UK exhibition Trade Route, at the Lowry, Salford Quays. He was commissioned to document a modern day shipping route, sailing across the Atlantic Ocean from Canada to the UK.
